April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4th, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing the guitar as well as taking piano classes, which ignited her love for writing songs. When April was 12 She composed her debut single Different. The year she turned 14 was when she was devoted for a long period of her time making song lyrics and working on the music she was playing. Soon, April began to take trips in NY and LA with her Dad in order for them both write songs. April began to include various other topics relevant to the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure disabilities and teen suicide. Lockhart is also gaining a growing popularity as a lifestyle influencer and works for popular Clean Beauty company Ilia. Her disability is a part of her identity, but it is not the whole picture. Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't overlook her disability. But it also doesn't insist on her disability. What message is it sending? It's important to keep in mind that each of us has many faces, our identities are varied and we are much more than our bodies. Lockhart has stated on video that she didn't want to be defined by her physical disability. She does not want to become a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are many aspects of Lockhart. This doesn't have any effect on my day-to-day life I do everything normally and I've found my own method of adjusting the things. Since it's a my identity It's a topic worthy of talking about. Lockhart has been a great source of inspiration for her female friends regarding self-acceptance. Even so, Lockhart admits having moments when she felt uncomfortable with her appearance, and the clothes with arms. Today, she wears anything she'd like. and she shares her photos on social media. Self-love she said is like a journey. "I do not think that you'll ever get in that place," she said. It's true for all, no matter what their level of insecurity. The people you surround yourself with that truly understand you and see through your eyes are the best people to remind you of what you're worrying about.
